Educational Qualification, Experience and Age Limit
1. Director (IT)
- Postgraduate degree in Computer, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, IT, Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science or IT Engineering from a recognised university or institution.
- 9 years of experience in the IT field in a government or semi-government organisation.
- Maximum age: 45 years.
2. Radiologist
- MD (Radio Diagnosis), MD (Radiology), Diplomate of National Board, or PG Diploma in Radiology/Radio Diagnosis.
- Basic computer knowledge and working knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
- Maximum age: 45 years.
3. Pathologist
- MD (Pathology), Diplomate of National Board, or PG Diploma in Pathology.
- Basic computer knowledge and working knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
- Maximum age: 45 years.
4. Legal Officer
- Law degree from a recognised university.
- Either 10 years of continuous practice in civil, criminal and labour courts after enrolment, or at least 5 years of legal-work experience in a government or semi-government post of the prescribed pay level (Level 8 or higher).
- Maximum age: 45 years.
5. Vahivati Adhikari (Suman School)
- Graduate in any discipline, plus a B.Ed.
- 10 years of experience as a secondary school teacher.
- Maximum age: 45 years.
6. Departmental Inquiry Officer
- Law degree from a recognised university.
- At least 10 years of experience before Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals, conciliation and similar forums. Priority goes to those who have worked as an arbitrator.
- Maximum age: 45 years.
7. Deputy Engineer (Instrumentation)
- B.E./B.Tech. in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in design, development, maintenance and calibration of instruments, including flow, pressure, temperature, sensors and transmitters used in water and chemical treatment.
- Maximum age: 40 years.
8. Assistant Engineer (Instrumentation)
- B.E./B.Tech. in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering from a recognised university.
- Maximum age: 35 years.
9. Supervisor (Instrumentation)
- B.E./B.Tech. in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or
- Diploma in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience in a government body, local body or government undertaking.
- Maximum age: 35 years.
Common to all posts: Basic computer knowledge as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both).
Age relaxation: The age limit does not apply to existing SMC employees. Reserved-category candidates get relaxation as per government rules. The cut-off date for calculating age is 23/11/2026.

Application Fee

- Reserved categories (women of all categories, SEBC, EWS, SC, ST and Divyang candidates): ₹400

Important Instructions for Candidates
- Reservation: Reserved-category benefits are available only to candidates belonging to Gujarat state. Women have 33% horizontal reservation, and Divyang candidates can apply as per the prescribed disability categories.
- One application per cadre: A candidate can submit only one application per cadre. If more than one is submitted, the last confirmed application is considered.
- Mobile number and email: Use a valid mobile number and email ID that will remain active until the end of the recruitment process. Call letters and updates are sent there.
- Selection: Selection will be through written, practical or oral tests, depending on the post. Details will be published on the SMC website.
- Test centre expenses: Candidates must bear their own travel and stay costs for tests.
- Government employees: Candidates working in government or semi-government bodies must submit a No Objection Certificate at document verification.
- SC/ST/SEBC/EWS candidates: Certificates must be in the prescribed format. For SEBC candidates, the Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be valid as per the rules, and Annexure-A (English) is not accepted.
- Rejection: Incorrect or false documents can lead to rejection of the application, and cancellation of appointment even after selection.
