The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through the ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), has released a new recruitment notification for Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and Stenographer posts. The recruitment advertisement, ISRO:ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026, is dated 27 July 2026.
A total of 244 vacancies are available across ISRO Centres/Units, Department of Space offices and autonomous institutions. The posts are in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix. Candidates can submit their applications online from 27 July 2026 to 16 August 2026.

The notification confirms 113 Assistant vacancies, while the JPA total is 81. The remaining posts include 22 UDC, 10 Stenographer, 17 Assistant and one JPA vacancy under autonomous institutions.

Educational Qualification & Experience
Assistant / Upper Division Clerk
Candidates applying for Assistant, UDC and Assistant posts in autonomous institutions should have:
- Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognised university.
- Graduation must have been completed within the stipulated duration prescribed by the university.
- Proficiency in the use of computers.
Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer
Candidates should have Graduation with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.32/10, or an eligible Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with the prescribed marks/CGPA.
Candidates also need:
- One year experience as Steno-Typist/Stenographer
- Minimum speed of 60 words per minute in English Stenography
- Proficiency in the use of computers
For candidates holding DCP/DCCP, an eligible Apprenticeship Training Certificate issued by BOAT under NATS may also be treated as equivalent to one year of Steno-Typist/Stenographer experience.
Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on 16 August 2026.

ISRO Salary 2026
Selected candidates will be appointed in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix, with a minimum basic pay of ₹25,500 per month.
In addition to basic pay, applicable benefits include DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, medical facilities, subsidised canteen, LTC, group insurance and other benefits according to applicable Central Government rules.

The application fee is ₹100 for all posts, but candidates are initially required to pay the applicable processing amount.

Women, SC/ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates who are exempt from the application fee can receive the applicable processing-fee refund if they appear in the written test/CBT. For other candidates who appear, the refund is made after deducting the ₹100 application fee.
Payment is accepted online through the Bharatkosh e-Payment Gateway, including Internet Banking, UPI and eligible debit cards.

Selection Process
The ISRO recruitment selection process consists primarily of:
- Written Test
- Skill Test
- Final selection based on written-test marks among candidates who qualify the skill test.
Based on written-test performance, candidates will generally be shortlisted for the skill test in a maximum 1:5 ratio against category-wise vacancies.
The Skill Test is qualifying in nature for final selection; final merit is based on written-test marks among candidates who qualify it.

Computer Skill Test
The Computer Literacy Test covers MS Word (35 marks), MS Excel (35 marks) and MS PowerPoint (30 marks). The duration is 75 minutes.
For JPA/Stenographer posts, the stenography test includes a shorthand test of 300 words at 60 words per minute, with 5 minutes for dictation.
